Ambassador of Italy of the United Arab Emirates, Nicola Lener said that the UAE has always proved to the world that it is a developed country and that it occupies a fine place regionally and internationally thanks to the policies of its wise leadership, pointing to the importance of the bilateral relations between UAE and Italy.
This came during an online meeting with His Excellency Mohamed Helal Al Mheiri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with Deputy Directors General Mr. Abdullah Ghurair Al Qubaisi and Mr. helal Mohammed Al Hameli.
Ambassador Lener commended the initiatives launched by the Abu Dhabi Chamber, especially during the current Coronavirus pandemic, to support the business community in Abu Dhabi, and the sheer number of virtual activities and webinars it has conducted. He expressed his interest to know more about the Chamber’s efforts with which it was able to communicate with businesses, mitigate the effects of the pandemic, and increase their confidence to ensure business continuity.
For his part, His Excellency Mohamed Helal Al Mheiri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, said that the UAE topped world countries in dealing with the crisis thanks to the directives of the wise leadership and the flexibility of the government’s policies. “The UAE scored the best world rank in regard to safety and stability in crisis management and facing the challenging and economic, social and health impact,” he added, pointing out that the UAE was able to move forward despite the pandemic by launching various initiatives and stimulus packages. “The government introduced the biggest flexible package of AED 256 million to stimulate the economy while considering the precautionary measures to limit the spread of the pandemic and its impact on the economy and to ensure the continuity of businesses,” he noted.
H.E. Al Mheiri pointed to the efforts of the Chamber to continue rendering its services to its members and to know their needs during the current situation; report their problems to the government and involving them with direct meeting with the concerned authorities to find proper solutions to their issues and to establish a strong and stable business environment.
The Director General added that the Chamber is completely ready to cooperate with the businesses community in Italy to solidify economic relations towards realizing both countries’ mutual interests.
