Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Al Ain Branch, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to the UAE, hosted the Al Ain-Indonesia Trade and Tourism Forum, bringing together government officials, private sector representatives and entrepreneurs from Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, alongside their counterparts from the Republic of Indonesia.

The event provided an effective platform for direct engagement between the two business communities, enabling participants to exchange insights and experiences and explore opportunities to establish sustainable trade and investment partnerships. Discussions focused on sectors with strong growth potential, including agriculture and food, logistics, tourism and hospitality. Participants also explored market needs and trends and discussed areas through which economic exchange could be expanded and new opportunities created for the private sector on both sides.

During the event, Abu Dhabi Chamber and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of West Java signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at establishing a broader framework for coordination across trade, investment, talent development and human capital. The MoU will support engagement between the two business communities, facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and promote information on available commercial opportunities. It will also help companies identify trusted partners and strengthen their presence in both markets.

The programme also featured a series of presentations and panel discussions highlighting the economic environment and growth opportunities available in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, alongside an overview of opportunities within the Indonesian market for investors and entrepreneurs. Discussions further explored Abu Dhabi's competitive advantages and its role in providing a supportive environment for economic activity, reinforcing the emirate's position as a leading global destination for business and investment.

In this context, Mohammed Mattar Al Shamsi, Projects Manager at the Al Ain Office of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), presented an overview of Abu Dhabi's investment ecosystem and the opportunities available to international investors, highlighting the emirate's strengths in supporting business expansion and investment growth.

Participants were also briefed on the latest developments regarding Trade Expo Indonesia 2026, scheduled to take place this October, and the opportunities it offers UAE companies to discover Indonesian products, services and businesses, while exploring new avenues for commercial exchange.

As part of efforts to strengthen trade between the private sectors of both countries, the event also witnessed the announcement of a commercial agreement between KN Coffee Nusantara and Limited Coffee Roaster in Al Ain. Under the agreement, KN Coffee Nusantara will supply premium Indonesian coffee products to Limited Coffee Roaster as part of an existing commercial relationship that has already generated transactions exceeding USD 1 million.

The agreement supports the expansion of Indonesian coffee exports to the UAE market by providing high-quality products at competitive prices, alongside reliable logistics and shipping solutions, while broadening the range of options available to consumers in the UAE. Participants emphasised the importance of continuing to strengthen trade and investment exchange, encourage capital flows and expand collaboration between the private sectors of both countries to maximise opportunities within their respective markets.

His Excellency Judha Nugraha, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the UAE, said: "Indonesia offers vast opportunities for international businesses across multiple sectors, and we are pleased by the interest shown by the business community in Al Ain. As the two countries celebrate the golden jubilee of 50 years of diplomatic relations this year, this gathering reflects our shared commitment to advancing economic ties through bringing institutions together, exchanging ideas and identifying practical areas for cooperation.
