His Excellency Mohamed Helal Al Mheiri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has conducted an online meeting with H.E. Madiar Menilikov, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the UAE, and discussed with him the means of solidifying the economic relations between businesses operating in Abu Dhabi and Kazakhstan.

H.E. Menilikov emphasized that the bilateral relations between the UAe and Kazakhstan are built on solid grounds, pointing out that the UAE is a strategic partner to Kazakhstan and that Abu Dhabi is an outstanding partner in many prominent trade projects in his country.

Ambassador Menilikov added that Kazakhstan has approved the inauguration of an investment office in Abu Dhabi with the aim of increasing economic and investment cooperation between the two sides, noting that the new office will be promoting the available investment opportunities in Kazakhstan and attract Emirati investors and businessmen to invest in it. He added that the office would encourage exchanging trade missions between the two countries.

The Ambassador also enquired about the steps and documents necessary to set up the investment office in Abu Dhabi.

For his part, H.E. Mohamed Helal Al Mheiri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, commended the awareness of Ambassador Menilikov in strengthening trade relations between Abu Dhabi and Kazakhstan, praising the idea of opening a Kazakhstani investment office in Abu Dhabi. “This will help both sides discover the available investment opportunities in the markets of both countries and help businesses find an excellent base to develop their joint trade cooperation,” he said.

Al Mheiri added that both countries possess strategic factors that would increase their volume of trade relations and reflect on the volume of their economic capabilities, especially that Abu Dhabi is one of the most attractive economic destination for money and investments in the world and that Kazakhstan is a gateway to investments in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). 

The Director General stressed that the Abu Dhabi Chamber is completely ready to provide all the necessary support and experience and to cooperate with the Embassy of Kazakhstan to provide all the information necessary to open the investment office as soon as possible. He also pointed to the need to encourage small and medium enterprises to create new business partnerships with their counterparts in Kazakhstan.
