Abu Dhabi Chamber obtains membership of the UFI

The Abu Dhabi Chamber has obtained membership of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry – UFI, which is a certification that is granted for the first time for a chamber of commerce in the world. The International Franchise Exhibition – Abu Dhabi (IFE), an exhibition that is organized by the Abu Dhabi Chamber annually in partnership with the Emirates Association for Franchise Development (FAD), is listed under the UFI Certified International Events as well. Recognizing the IFE by the UFI is considered as a golden standard for the quality of trade exhibitions across the globe.

His Excellency Mohamed Helal Al Mheiri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber and Chairman of FAD, said that obtaining the membership of the UFI is a new earned achievement to be added to the Chamber’s long list of records of local and international accomplishments and awards, which it earned since its foundation 50 years ago. Since then, the Chamber materialized the vision of the wise leadership in pushing the wheel of economic development in the emirate forward and bringing it to entrepreneurship levels on all levels and in all sectors.

The Director General added that being a member of the UFI is a positive index to the ability of the Chamber to organize local, regional and international exhibitions, especially that the exhibition industry is a key tool in the comprehensive economic development and reflects the distinguished position of Abu Dhabi on the world map of conferences and exhibitions. 

Al Mheiri added that the IFE – Abu Dhabi is one the biggest franchise exhibition in the world and was able, for the first time in the Gulf region, to host the 51st congress of the World Franchise Council in Abu Dhabi, which the Chamber, in strategic partnership with FAD, organized in conjunction with the 7th edition of the IFE 2019. According to the participants, the 51st congress of the World Franchise Council in Abu Dhabi was one of the most successful meetings of the council to date.

It is worth noting that the UFI is the leading global association of the world’s tradeshow organizers and exhibition center operators with around 800 member organizations in 88 countries and regions around the world are presently signed up as members. More than 945 international trade fairs proudly bear the UFI approved label, a quality guarantee for visitors and exhibitors alike. UFI members continue to provide the international business community with a unique marketing media aimed at developing outstanding face-to-face business opportunities.
