The Abu Dhabi Businesswomen Council has announced the start of the 5th edition of the Best Innovative and Creative Project Award 2020 – Digital Edition on 13 July 2020.

The Abu Dhabi Businesswomen Council has announced the start of the 5th edition of the Best Innovative and Creative Project Award 2020 – Digital Edition on 13 July 2020.

Her Excellency Maryam Al-Rumaithi, Chairwoman of the Executive Board of the ADBWC, said that the award comes to realize an active and distinguished participation of the Emirati woman in business entrepreneurship as well as to spread the culture of creativity and innovation.

She added that the award will motivate and encourage women entrepreneurs and owners of innovative and creative projects from university and higher institute graduates to join in with new ideas and projects.

“The award also help the winning projects to enter the market by providing training, information and business incubators during the different stages of the project and then transform them into real and competitive projects in the market,” she said.

Al Rumeithi added that the Council will start receiving submissions starting on 13 July 2020 up until 15 July 2020 and that categorization of submissions will be held on 16 September 2020. Evaluation and assessment process will take place from 20 – 24 September 2020 and the final results will be approved on 14 October 2020 and announced on 28 October 2020.

Concerning the Digital Edition, Dr. Shafiqa Al Ameri, Executive Director of the ADBWC, said that according to the requirements of digital transformation of the services of the public and private sectors in Abu Dhabi and the strategic approaches of the Council, a new e-system was programmed specifically tailored for the digital edition of the award. Through this e-system all the processes of the award will be taken place starting from the nomination stage up until the announcement of the results.

It is worth noting that the categories of the award include: women entrepreneurs; Mubdia’a projects; University, institutes and colleges female students; women who submitted for Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development; and Women in general.

Applicants to the award must meet some requirements: Being an Emirati woman national; filling an e-application and completing all the required stages of submitting the application; submitting the idea in writing and in detail; the project idea must be innovative and creative; must be feasible, executable and of economic benefits.

 

The award will include two categories:

The individual ideas category of women entrepreneurs of new innovative ideas and initiatives in businesses.

The second category includes collective ideas of sets of no more than five women in each group. Each woman in any group can apply for the award individually as well.

In regard to the mechanism of the award, the 1st place winner will receive a certificate, a trophy and cash prize of AED 30,000, whereas the 2nd place winner will receive a certificate, a trophy and cash prize of AED 25,000 in addition to being nominated to enter the innovative and integrated business incubator. The 3rd place winner will receive a certificate, a trophy and cash prize of AED 20,000 in addition to being nominated to enter the innovative and integrated business incubator. The 4th and 5th place winners will receive a certificate, a trophy and cash prize of AED 15,000 and AED 10,000 respectively.

All winners will be nominated to enter the innovative and integrated business incubator.
